Hike and Bike with Vision |

Looks like the Hike and Bike trail along Lady Birdtown Lake is finally getting the long-term vision plan it needs. As the development in the center of the city is increasing, it is important to make sure that future of the hike and bike trail is well thought out before it is too late.
Because my campaign puts a strong emphasis on both the environment and biking, updating the hike and bike path is very important to me. First, it provides a nice parkland for urban dwellers to enjoy nature, while also providing a buffer around Lady Bird Lake from development that could potentially cause more problems for a waterway that already needs to be cleaned up. In addition the hike and bike trail offers a safe environment for people to enjoy recreational biking, which in my opinion is a great gateway into getting people to use their bikes for commuting purposes. Because of both these reasons we need to make sure that the future of the hike and bike trail is planned, and that the plan is backed by city council support.
