It is sad how ridiculous we look as a state when crap like this happens. And it isn't just Dripping Springs, either. Cars hit bikes every day in Austin because they are driving recklessly, and APD rarely charges the motorist. I have several friends this has happened to. No wonder cyclists don't trust the police.

Finally, something positive when it comes to catching bike thieves. APD recently arrested James Clayton, a local cyclist and former competitive mountain biker, for rampant bike theft. I wonder if my Felt Z85 is in the pile of stuff police recovered. I really hope this guy gets the maximum sentence, cause anyone who claims to be a friend of cyclists, while stealing their bikes, is clearly so deluded I'm sure he will do it again. Thats right, election day is here. Saturday May 10th is your last chance to vote for Allen Demling. Because it is election day, you will need to vote at the precinct where you are registered. If you don't know what your precinct is, check here. Search for your name, and your precinct number will be located below the "Travis County Elections Polling Location" header.
